Mousepaw's Training « Thread Started on May 14, 2006, 7:52pm »
Spottedfeather's ears twiched, followed by her whiskers. Today, Mousepaw's training shall begin. She gazed ahead the Sandy Hollow, where warriors were trained, generation over genaration. She looked down at her feet, and sighed. Then the deputy looked behind her. Hmm.. I told her yesterday the training would begin. Now where IS Mousepaw? Spottedfeather's thoughts were interupted by teh crunchin of grass and twigs.

Soon a brown tabby apprentice barreled out of the grass and landed in a pile of fur in front of Spottedfeather, the figure looked up as two other apprentices ran through the hollow, they stopped and apologized, Sorry, Spottedfeather, we were playing around and forgot that she had training... and with that they raced off, probably to hunt, Mousepaw guessed. By then she had gathered herself up and was shaking sand from her pelt..

Spottedfeather smiled as she saw her apprentice. She didn't mind that Mousepaw had been playing with her friends. Hello there young Mousepaw. Your friends seem very polite. Well, as you can see, this is the sandy hollow. You know that apprentices train here with their fighting moves. Shall we begin our training? Spottedfeather grinned, Mousepaw was a fun apprentice to have. She woul grow up to be a great warrior. Spottedfeather's eyes gleamed.

She smiled and gazed up at her mentor and nodded, she was so anxious to begin her training that it took every ounce of her self-control to stay still! She kneaded her paws into the soft sand and looked around, everything....was so.....great!

Well, than we shall begin Spottedfeather mewed through a grin. Mousepaw was going to be a great warrior, she knew it. Mousepaw was anxious enough as well. The brown apprentice gazed about the Sandy Hollow. First, I'll be teaching you how to hunt she began. You need to know how to stalk the prey. Crouch down low, having your belly fur touching the ground. Keep low, and steadily, stealthily, and quietly move forward. Get as close as you can, and leap at it. Crack it's neck and kill it before it makes noise. If it makes too much noise, it might scare the other prey As spottedfeather spoke, she demonstrated what to do in each step. Alrighty. Now show me how you stalk. Go from here to there Spottedfeather pointed to the large oak tree ahead of them. Then she turned around to watch Mousepaw.

The young apprentice nodded and crouched down low in the sand, slowly and carefully, she placed one paw in front of the other, making sure not to make a single sound. She soon found herself in front of the large oak, she turned around with a large grin on her face as she looked back at her mentor, wondering what she would say about her stalking...

Spottedfeather proudly watched as Mousepaw soundlessly made her way over to the large oak. The small tabby turned around, waiting for what her mentor woul tell her. That was exellent Mousepaw! she praised her apprentice. You're learning very quickly the deputy added. Now, see if you can scent any prey, because we need to practice actually catching the prey as well.

The small brown apprentice nodded as she looked around, her ears twtching as she tried to catch prey scent, or the sound of a mouse's heartbeat. She looked back to Spottedfeather to make sure she was doing everything right, before she moved forth towards a mouse sitting unaware in the bushes.she placed one paw in front of the other as silently as she could, before she leapt upon thefurry creature and bit down on it's neck, making sure it wouldn't scare anything off...

Spottedfeather stood, syunned, as she watched her apprentice capture her first prey like she was a fully trained apprentice. Spottedfeather couldn't believe that Mousepaw was learning so quickly. Mousepaw skillfully killed the mosue, and turned owver to bring it to Spottedfeather's paws. Well done mousepaw, that was exellent. You're learning so quickly!

Mousepaw smiled and gave a small purr as she licked down the fur on her chest nervously, her slender brown tail twitching happily, she turned her gaze towards her mentor, wondering what they would do next...
